The Year 2024; Your Race or Your Pace

As we embark on the new year, it is awesome that you have set personal development and career goals. This is day three and you may have not even started and that is okay. It all depends on your timeline and the measures you've put in place.

While your initial motivation is a powerful force, it's crucial to recognise that discipline is the driving force behind every goal accomplishment. It's natural to feel a surge of enthusiasm and motivation at the start, but as time progresses, you may not always be motivated and you may not witness instant outcomes. This is where discipline becomes your anchor. Be patient with the process, and periodically reassess your plan. If necessary, tweak your strategies, and even when you realise you're doing everything right, keep doing what you're doing. You're definitely progressing and you may not feel like it.

Don't be disheartened if you don't meet a set deadline. Don't be too hard on yourself if the progress is slower than you expected. Else you'd be tempted to fall out of the race and think what you're aiming at is not for you.

The essential factor is consistently investing effort into your objectives. Focus on the tasks at hand rather than dwelling on perceived timing failures. Your journey is distinctive, and progress is more important than adhering strictly to a predefined schedule.

If you encounter setbacks, take a moment to reevaluate and adjust your course. Success is a culmination of sustained effort, adaptability, and resilience. Remember, comparing your pace to others' is counterproductive; it's your individual journey that matters most. Just focus on yourself.

Pick the  Race and not necessarily the Pace.
